Why you may need to re-link your bank account
Why You May Need to Reconnect Your Bank
What causes disconnects and how to fix them fast
Sometimes your bank connection might drop and it can feel like a hassle but it’s usually a quick fix and nothing to stress about
Common reasons for disconnections
Banks update their security regularly and sometimes that means breaking the connection on purpose to keep your info safe You might also need to reconnect if you recently changed your bank password updated your multi factor settings or added extra protections like Face ID or security questions
Other times it’s just a timeout If your bank hasn’t sent new data in a while Plaid might expire the connection to protect your privacy
How to reconnect your account
Just head to your Accounts tab and tap on the one that needs attention You’ll see a prompt to relink your bank and you’ll go through the same secure Plaid window as when you first connected Nothing gets deleted and all your past data stays safe
Once you log back in your transactions will start syncing again and your budget will be back on track
If reconnecting doesn’t work right away try again in a few hours or reach out to support and we’ll help sort it out quickly
