How to handle cash transactions

Handling Cash Transactions or Offline Accounts

Track everything even when it’s not digital

Not all spending happens through a bank card Sometimes it’s cash or a payment to someone who doesn’t show up in your synced accounts Lucky Friday makes it easy to track those too so your budget stays accurate.

How to create a cash account

Go to your Accounts tab and tap Add Account Choose Cash Account and give it a name like “Wallet” or “Cash Jar” You can set a starting balance or leave it at zero if you want to log as you go

This account works just like any other You can add or remove transactions manually and they’ll show up in your budget totals.

Tracking non-digital spending

To log a cash purchase or offline expense tap Add Transaction Pick the cash account choose a category and enter the amount and date You can also add notes like “Farmers market” or “Paid babysitter”

You can use this for:

  • Cash tips
  • Venmo or Zelle transfers that don’t show in your bank feed
  • Private school payments or local bills
  • Personal IOUs and reimbursements

It’s all about keeping your budget honest and useful whether or not it runs through a bank.
